About the preceptor Erin is looking for:

Located near St. Petersburg, Florida.

Hello!
I am looking for a Pediatric Primary Care preceptor who sees patients 0-18 years of age. I require close to 800 hours between summer 2026 and spring 2027. I am a student at Rush University, obtaining my DNP PC-PNP, and will be graduating in May 2027.
As a Doctor of Nursing Practice Pediatric Nurse Practitioner–Primary Care (PNP-PC) student, my ideal preceptor is a clinician who is deeply committed to evidence-based, family-centered pediatric care and who values teaching as an integral part of practice. This preceptor demonstrates strong clinical reasoning, models thorough and developmentally appropriate assessments, and explains their thought processes in real time to support clinical growth.

They foster a supportive learning environment that encourages questions, reflection, and progressive independence while maintaining patient safety. An ideal preceptor also emphasizes preventive care, health promotion, and management of both acute and chronic conditions across the pediatric lifespan. Importantly, they model effective communication with children and families, cultural humility, and interprofessional collaboration.

By providing timely, constructive feedback and opportunities to refine diagnostic and management skills, this preceptor helps bridge theory and practice, supporting my development into a confident, competent, and compassionate primary care pediatric nurse practitioner.
