Reminder: Call for nominations!

Dear MMNP members, 

You only have 10 more days to get your nominations in for President-Elect, Treasurer, and CME/Special Programs Committee by 6/30/2012. Please see below for details: 

The term for President-Elect is one year (followed by one year as President) and Treasurer is two years.  The term for the CME/Special Programs Comittee will be 2 years on a trial basis. 

All nominations must include a brief (one or two paragraph) biography about the nominee.

Please feel free to nominate yourself or a peer who is a member in good standing with the
Association. I would like to strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this wonderful
opportunity to be involved in our organization.

Please email me your nomination and biography by June 30th. A final ballot will be distributed to all members via email the first week of July and members will have until July 31st to vote. The results of the election will be announced August 1st and new board members will be introduced to all members at our annual membership meeting on August 8th.

Please see below for a description of each role that is up for nominations, per our bylaws:

President-Elect: The President-Elect shall be a Director of the Association and
will preside at meetings of the Board of Directors in the absence of or request of the President.
The President-Elect shall exercise the duties of the President in the absence or incapacity of
the President. If the President should die, resign, or be removed from office, the President-
Elect shall succeed to the office of the President, completing the current term plus the next
full term. The President-Elect shall establish a Nominations Committee and shall recommend
nominations. The President-Elect shall perform other duties as requested and assigned by the
President, subject to the control of the Board of Directors.

Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be accountable for financial transactions ofthe organization. Shall update the membership directoryannually. Shall update the membership listing and provide a current roster to officers every two months.

**CME/Special Programs Comittee: This is a new committee that has been formed due to the overwhelming request by members to have CME and networking programs available to them. As much as we would like to offer these types of programs, there is a lot of time and effort that goes into CME conferences and it is just too much for one Program Chair to handle.  If you are available to work in a team capacity to help organize CME events (especially if you have past experiences in setting them up), this is the committee for you! This committee will be in a trial period for the first term, and if successful, we hope to make it a permanent part of our organization. We need 3 to 5 members to form this committe.

Also, don't forget that the current ANCC recertification guidelines reward 75 CEUs for
holding office in a professional organization.
