MMNP 2018 Essay Scholarship Competition
2018 Metro Milwaukee Nurse Practitioner - Essay Scholarship Competition.
For many years, we have been supporting our MMNP members who are furthering their education. The essays have brought wonderful insight regarding the student perspective of the nurse practitioner role. We are excited to announce this annual event.
As an organization, we encourage all current NP students to apply. If you are an educator or preceptor, please encourage your students to join MMNP and participate. The winning essays will be chosen by the board after review.
- You must be a current nurse practitioner student (MSN or DNP) and a current MMNP member in good standing to apply for the scholarship. If you are not a current member, you may join MMNP by applying online through the membership tab. The annual cost for MMNP membership is $35.00 for full members and $25.00 for student members (you must be able to provide proof of student status).
- Submit a 500 word essay explaining the importance of being a nurse practitioner today and what crucial issues the profession will be facing in the future.
- Essays will be evaluated based on proper citation of any sources used, correct grammar and spelling, and clarity of the content.
The final date for submission is midnight on June 30, 2018.
All entries will be blinded, reviewed, and voted on by the board. Scholarship recipients will be contacted directly and announced at the MMNP Annual Dinner meeting and on the MMNP website following the dinner meeting. Student scholarship winners will receive $500. The MMNP President will blind the essays and submit to MMNP Board members for consideration. As the MMNP President will not be blinded to the applicant’s name, the MMNP President will not be involved in the decision making process in regards to awarding of scholarships.
