About Us

The Metro Milwaukee Nurse Practitioners organization began in 1993 as a grass roots effort to identify and network local NPs in the various specialties. The early meetings used local speakers and space in the area colleges and health facilities. A core group of six NPs representing family, women’s health, pediatric, adult and geriatric NPs provided the leadership for the first few years. During this time, membership grew from less than 50 to nearly 200 NPs and NP students. The initial bylaws and instillation of the first elected officers took place in 1996 along with the incorporation of the group. The Metro Milwaukee Nurse Practitioners organization now has more then 430 members!!
